A New Years Thought

Tonight is a special night. It’s New Years Eve.  Until recently I’ve never really understood why this day was so important, but I’ve come to the realization that New Year’s is a day of hope, of new beginnings, of remembrance, and I think that the world needs tonight more than anything. Tonight  is a time to learn from our past mistakes, to reflect on lessons learned, and to honor those not with us anymore.  It is a time for us to plan for our future, a time for us all to have a new beginning, and to wipe our slate clean. It is a chance to start over, a chance to get things right, to have new experiences, a chance to write new stories or to make a dream come true. It is a chance to do good, to be a light in a world so often filled with despair and darkness.   In the words of John Rzeznik “Tonight’s the night the world begins again.”  So wherever you find yourself this evening, I wish you a happy and  hope filled New Year.
